Gibson James Sell
Established in 2004, Gibson James Sell is a Canadian glass artist based in Campbell River, British Columbia, where he now operates a private studio open to the public. Working exclusively with borosilicate glass-commonly known as Pyrex-Gibson uses high-temperature lampworking techniques to transform molten glass through an open flame. Each piece is shaped, blown, and sculpted by hand, resulting in one-of-a-kind creations that balance function and artistry. With over two decades of experience, Gibson's work reflects both technical mastery and a deep connection to the raw, transformative nature of his medium. His pieces often draw inspiration from the West Coast-organic forms, ocean life, and the unpredictable beauty of fire and flow.
