Jeremy Dane Morris
Bases in Vancouver, Jeremy has been working for four decades with glass in one form or another: from stained glass, sandblasted glass, fused glass, to hot glass. Nowadays, he is focused on kiln-formed glasswork, sometimes incorporating hand-pulled glass cane into his sculptures, dishes and jewellery. He is interested in exploring qualities unique to glass; transparency vs. opacity, surface pattern vs. depth, and control vs. flow. Usually, it is the juxtaposition of two or more of these aspects that sets up a tension in his glass designs. |
