Krista Kilvert is a conceptually-based, mixed media artist whose oeuvre - spanning more than three decades - reflects a cross-pollination of diverse materials and processes in service of Kilvert's greater conceptual intentions. Cast crystal leaves and shells intend to spark reflection and contemplation on nature, environmental impact and consequence.

Kilvert's glass projects are limited in production and availability. With this work Kilvert engages specialists skilled in the technical production of hand casting crystal glass and also those working with the application of dichroic finishes involving metallic vapors to the glass in vacuum chambers under extreme heat and pressure.

Dichroics utilizing gold were developed by NASA for application on the astronaut's shields to reflect the heat and light of the sun and are also commonly used in satellites and other industrial applications.

Kilvert has an undergraduate degree in the arts from the Ontario College of Art and Design, MFA from CalArts in Valencia, California and has also attended the Pilchuck Glass School, Stanwood, Washington.

As a second generation immigrant to Canada, Kilvert lives and works on the unceded territory of the Stó:1õ Coast Salish peoples of the Fraser Valley in British Columbia.
