These mixed media forms by Benjamin Kikkert are an exciting addition to our gallery floor. Following a similar aesthetic to his creekbed series, they feature large etched “rocks” and are heavily textured in clear glass frit, maximizing each pieces optical effect truly representing the movement of water and fluidity of our chosen material. Each rock is handcrafted and carefully fused to the exterior form, offering the handler option of angle and even presents multiple ways to situate each piece. Unlike many everyday objects, there is no right way to display these pieces, which is an unique and welcome addition to our gallery. The driftwood can be removed or repositioned to change the form as you like!
